Another Tropical Junket for Baron

Back around Memorial Day, Baron took a taxpayer-funded holiday junket to sunny Portugal, Morocco, and the Mediterranean.

Now, to celebrate and ring in the new year, he's going on another trip.

This time, your tax dollars are going to pay for him to go to the sunny and tropical Pacific island of Guam.

From the Pacific News Center:

Guam - Members of the congressional delegation (CODEL) are set to meet with local and military leaders on Guam to discuss the military build-up on the island.

The 12-member CODEL led by House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer of Maryland arrived on the island yesterday. Governor Felix Camacho led a welcome ceremony for the visiting congressmen.

The CODEL also include Minority Whip Roy Blunt of Missouri, Representative Albert Benjamin "Ben" Chandler III of Kentucky, Rep. Emanuel Cleaver of Missouri, Rep. Jo Ann Emerson of Missouri, Rep. Robert "Bob" Etheridge of North Carolina; Rep. Kay Granger of Texas, Rep. Baron Hill of Indiana, Rep. Ray La Hood of Illinois, Rep. John Lewis of Georgia, and Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Florida.

I suspect that Guam is a welcome change from the wintry nastiness we've been seeing here in Indiana (it snowed today, and it's apparently too cold for the highway department to put brine on the roads to treat them).

I wonder if Baron took his family along again, like he has in past travel junkets when other people have been footing the bill.

I never did get my postcard from Baron when he visited Portugal.

I guess it got lost in the mail.

Maybe I'll get one from Guam.

You never can tell.

I should. After all, my tax dollars helped pay for his vacation there.
